procmail has supported maildir since hamm. exim supports maildir since at least slink, possibly before. sendmail does not support maildir, but it probably could if someone wrote the rule to do it, or it's possible that a code patch could be (or has been) written. qmail created maildir. The issue is that maildir will use one inode for each message. It's a terrible archival format and there's no real simple tool available today for archiving messages in a maildir (though one should not be hard to write..) > It seems that the hassle might not be worth it? Still, I believe it should be done by the individual sysadmin---even though I have done it myself. The admin is the best person to decide if the changes made by switching to maildir are workable or not. -- Joseph Carter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Debian GNU/Linux developer GnuPG: 2048g/3F9C2A43 - 20F6 2261 F185 7A3E 79FC 44F9 8FF7 D7A3 DCF9 DAB3 PGP 2.6: 2048R/50BDA0ED - E8 D6 84 81 E3 A8 BB 77 8E E2 29 96 C9 44 5F BE -------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Knghtbrd unleashes a pair of double barreled snurf guns and covers jesus with snurf darts <jesus> meany :P
