I had to remove CVS dirs from the tarball. Now this > should be correct. Thats not a sufficient reason to repack the tarball; it is more important that it is pristine (if applicable). Perhaps the clean target can remove them, and then you don't have to look at them nearly as much (instead, the "dpkg: foo was removed" warnings, though).
