To me it reads like that you are worried about
 _your_  _only_ Debian package

If you care about the Debian project
that put effort in other parts of the project.

Time spent on viri, is time stolen from building software that sense.


Imagine that someone sends you twenty frozen pizzas.
Your servent puts all of then in the micro wave oven
and expects you to eat them all.

There is a whole family of E-mail client programs
that when ever they see a script in a E-mail they start executing it.
Those stupid programs are the default MUA on MS-Windows.

Replacing the vicious E-mailers is the way to go to extinguish viri.
