I agree with finding a BTS solution to the yet informal way sponsors are handled, but just to suggest another option: We could use another tag to the wnpp pseudo-package, like RFS (Request For Sponsor), wich would be a second step, after an ITP has been filled by a New Maintainer... What do you all think? Is there a blatant reason why this method should also be rejected?
