Hi,

You may remember me suggesting that "SaunaFS", an alternative to the now dead "LizardFS" SDS project, might be useful for people like me who are doing their bioinformatics on an HPC cluster and need shared storage.

However, SaunaFS is only supported on Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 LTS.

Urmas Rist from Leil Storage (in CC) has offered to package "SaunaFS" for Debian 12 ("bookworm") and he's created a GitHub repo to try out packaging the upstream Ubuntu "SaunaFS" for Debian 12 ("bookworm").

https://github.com/leil-io/debian-package

I've got this to build packages successfully in a Proxmox VM running Debian 12, but there are still some issues with e.g. "dh_missing".

@Steffen, if you've got time, please will you take a look?

Thanks,

  Tony.
