I admit it was a funny joke and it was really a good answer. In fact, the source of the noise is not the tea kettle. It does not always happen that the kettle might make a noise right when my laptop is resuming from hibernation and by the way I don't have a tea kettle in my room. Can you please tell me in which one of the mailing lists this question should be asked if it is outside of the domain of debian-laptop? I sent the question to debian-kernel too but from the conversation going on I guess it is again irrelevant.
