Hi All, sorry for a long time, been so busy follow all suggestion. :)

But finally made it. X work on my laptop using "vesa" driver. I edit
the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file and change the value of the driver to
"vesa". I found the idea after using Knoppix and see how it probing
my display driver to find the best driver --thanks Florian--.

Even it's little strange because the X driver works for Knoppix is
"fbdev". "fbdev" fails on my laptop, but at least "vesa" works. :)
Well, may someone please tell me why this happen?

Knoppix is derived from Debian "unstable" (Sid) and therefore it has
newer hardware drivers than Debian "stable" (Sarge). Maybe the Sarge
version of "fbdev" does not support your graphics card due to being too
old. "vesa" is a pretty basic driver which works almost always, but it
does not support hardware acceleration and other advanced features of
modern graphics hardware.

It still a long way to go to have all of my hardware works. *sigh*
But its worth to try...

I also have problem dealing with my sound driver, soft-modem,
wireless, built-in camera & mic, and the most important the ACPI
feature. The battery indicator is not working, telling there is
problem with acpid.socket. and the acpi daemon is not working. There
are also suggestion to re-compile the kernel.

Could please anyone help me?

Debian Sarge is excellent for use on servers, but it can be difficult
with laptops, since they tend to have lots of specialized new hardware.
It will be much easier to get all your hardware working if you switch to
Debian "testing" (Etch), because then you will get a system which is
more like Knoppix in terms of hardware support. It is possible to
upgrade from Sarge to Etch, but it can be a bit difficult because it
involves a major transition in the graphics system. (XFree86 -> Xorg)
For you it might be best to reinstall with the newly released "Etch beta
2" installer. A number of people have reported that it works really
nicely. You can find the CD images here:

http://www.us.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/

Some of your current hardware problems might even disappear
automatically, simply because Etch has a newer version of the Linux kernel.

Regards,
           Florian
