Neither did I. That was the problem. The key combination is Alt-F10. I do not know if this is a standard key combination because it it my first notebook. So I probably pressed it without noticing it. Moreover, this model (Clevo W55) does not have the led lights to show the state (enabled/disabled) of some of its hardware like the numeric keypad and wifi card even though I really knew they can be enabled/disabled by similar key combinations.
