Thanks for digging that out. That exactly matches what I thought I knew about the default in Debian mailing lists. I'd always thought it to be the responsibility of the poster to state in case they are not subscribed. However… that falls short if they do not know any netiquette or code of conduct either or simply do not understand how a mailing list works. Anyway… I now explicitly mentioned to please not sent carbon copies to me for this list. Let's see how it works out. I bet this could conclude the topic. One could argue for one or the other way to approach things till the end of time. But I'd argue my and the other's time is spent better in another way. It is similar about whether to great people at the beginning of the mail or not. I find it polite and often do it, however… I also found that people not doing it most often do not mean this as being rude to others. So I tolerate it either way.
