Huh? In most of the Debian mailing lists I participate in no one does that. For me it usually means additional work, cause the direct reply is not filtered automatically. I did not care enough to mention it specifically so far, however, if what you say is an accurate representation of what is going on in Debian mailing lists, despite my perception of the default being different on them, I may create a special signature for Debian mailing lists. I know its the default for Linux kernel related mailing lists, but to my perception it was never the default on Debian related mailing lists – unless probably if someone answers after such a long time that one might miss an answer to a mailing list.
