Thanks, guys. The problem got solved in the Nvidia machine just rebooting as Guan suggested, not in the ATI one (I restarted it several times this afternoon). I suppose it's that bug commented by Modestas. What sounds rare to me is that the links provided by him refer to issues happened more than a week ago, and my ATI machine worked flawlessly till today's upgrade (I installed KDE 4.3.2, from Unstable with all the stuff needed from Unstable on that computer a week ago). I can't access now to the ATI machine, but I'll take a look tomorrow to Aptitude's log to see if I upgraded any Xorg related package, if I didn't it should be another reason.
