Having more options on how to use the BTS would be a good idea in my opinion.
I'd imagine that the BTS stays as the central system, but others connect to it.
For example, merge requests or issues on salsa could optionally (or even always)
be mirrored to the BTS, which might help with the problem that salsa may not run
gitlab some time in the future. That way, a extra platform with easy ui could be
added to the BTS. This would require a sort of API, besides E-Mail, which I do
not know if the BTS has one.

Of course, I'm only playing make believe. And it would all have to be developed
and maintained. Overall, extending the BTS with "extra services" might be a
worthwhile goal.
