I think this touches on - or possibly misses - a key point. I do not trust the systemd project to not do things I consider bad or even insane, because they've already done such things, and they show no regret or repentance over having done so. I've seen the same thing with the Mozilla project. I've seen the same thing with Microsoft. I believe all of those groups are acting in good faith, working towards what they see as good goals, with good intentions, and I trust them to continue to do that; based on the evidence of history, I no longer trust that the result of that work will be - or, if it once is, will continue to be - something *I* would consider good.
