But I'm not sure why we suddenly seeing a problem spotted 2 years ago now. I also don't understand why we have the unstable branch of Gtk2-Perl packaged. Surely we should have Gtk2 1.222 and Glib 1.223, which are the latest stable branches from the end of May. I've started a discussion on the gtk-perl mailing list.
