Yikes! Touchy, aren't we. Uhh, you're the one who brought up macs and alleged corporate oppression to begin with. I'm just pointing out that it works both ways. I care about system-wide defaults because I use other applications that cannot be expected to integrate with GConf (like alpine, or K applications, or whatever.)
