Hi Bruce,

Yes, I was putting it into our smartd.conf file.
For myself, whenever I design a configurable into a program,
it is always selectable by either command line or config file.
So I tend to use "configurable" and "option" interchangeably.
(See: http://www.gnu.org/software/autogen/autoopts.html )

I have this same incredible lag time problem even with my own little
tool. I fixed a config file parsing issue about 2.0 years ago, but the
etch version has an autogen from 2.1 years ago. Here, I'm just trying
to encourage Debian folks to hasten the cycle a little bit for
smartmontools, though I'd surely appreciate an autogen refresh, too. :)
