Hi Bruce, Yes, I was putting it into our smartd.conf file. For myself, whenever I design a configurable into a program, it is always selectable by either command line or config file. So I tend to use "configurable" and "option" interchangeably. (See: http://www.gnu.org/software/autogen/autoopts.html ) I have this same incredible lag time problem even with my own little tool. I fixed a config file parsing issue about 2.0 years ago, but the etch version has an autogen from 2.1 years ago.
