Thanks for trying to reproduce the problem. The build still fails for me, and it also fails here with the same error message: https://tests.reproducible-builds.org/debian/rb-pkg/unstable/amd64/apt-xapian-index.html If you can build it, then the build process is not deterministic, which is concerning, as it would mean that when it builds, it does so by pure chance. In either case, the failure rate is 100% here, and that's why I always offer a VM to reproduce to anybody willing to debug it. Thanks.
