Reproduce by grabbing a sample file from
https://filesamples.com/samples/image/jp2/sample1.jp2, running `loupe
sample1.jp2`, and observing «Could not Load Image» and «Unknown image format:
“JPEG-2000 JP2 image (image/jp2).”».
(Off-topic: I consider it not fully wrong but unusual to see «Could not Load
Image» in title case. My taste would be to simply write, «Could not show image
due to its unknown format, “JPEG-2000 JP2 image (image/jp2).”» After all, those
are two different pieces of information, since even if the image format is
unknown, the program could still read the file at least partially, in a
low-level sense LOAD it (but not necessarily show the image).)
Hi Peter,
opened an upstream issue about this. We'll have to wait to what they
think. Feel free to add some more context why you want to have loupe
support this image there. Regarding the error message, this is a
separate issue, please report this upstream.
best,
