Quite correct  Sorry for confusing everyone (or anyone).

I read the "x" as substitute the correct value.  Perhaps this could be 
documented as:
  netcfg/get_hostname=dummy-value netcfg/get_domain=dummy-value

just to prevent ignorants, such as myself, from misunderstanding "x".
