The installer seems to have done that, yes. I thought the installer's behavior was pretty weird to let me assign / to a volume first, and then tell me later that that's a no-no. :) > Can I close this bug or is there something you think needs fixing > here ? It's certainly not lvm's fault if the installer screwed up a bit, so yes, this bug probably can be closed -- or reassigned to the installer. I cannot exactly list the steps I did to cause this, though, except for trying to define a volume group including /, then being told by the installer that that's not allowed, therefore redefining and reassigning the partitions, and proceeding with the installation.
