Yeah, this is a MacBook with intel only graphics if it matters. It defaults to its highest resolution on boot I guess(?). On my installed system I had to change the GRUB font because otherwise it was too tiny too. As I said, the VTs are just fine and properly sized. I can share a video of the boot process if it helps.
