Mmm, so on your system the resolution you are getting in grub is already high and thus tiny text there? That's a concern then, if we cannot rely on having a not-too-high initial resolution, we'll indeed have to bite the bullet, build&ship larger font sizes, and decide which to launch depending on the resolution.
