I tried to just run modprobe but because I checked dmesg -c first I could see that the attempt to load it had already been made. I tried a couple of times. Perhaps it's an autodetected module like some of the network drivers (it doesn't need an entry in /etc/modules at any rate), so perhaps as soon as the code for the modules is loaded the attempt is made to load it? If I try modprobe I get told megraid_mbox doesn't exist until after the network configuration step, and even if I dont detect disk, once that step is complete the driver is being loaded. Any attempt to load the module once the loading process had begun immediately returns. Regards, Daniel -- And that's my crabbing done for the day.
