OK, but how much is still a question.

you might send us a copy of your xorg.conf and also the log file
of X from var/log.

I will try and try installing X on mine pretty soon (has 36MB in it now).
I think it should at least start the server and an xterm with that.

don't be afraid to replace it yourself it is really easy as long
as you ground yourself on the powersupply housing and it is
plugged in to a good ground, and handle memory card by edges.
i also like to leave a bowl of water out standing if the air is dry
(I don't know how long you have to leave it out though).

You can get new 64MB card (single card slot) for $20US so if trying
a 32 I would not pay much more than $10. 128 is the size that would
hurt, I think...
