In some email I received from "Kim Donaldson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> on Mon, 24 Mar 2003 20:08:03 +0000, wrote:

(#5.1.1) This is not a dbmail error, if qmail was passing the message to dbmail, dbmail-smtp with bounce back to the addr specified in %etc/dbmail.conf. I suppose clearly that`s the case. I recommend postfix for now, it`s _the_ best solution with dbmail, easy and compact. I`m like qmail, so i`m trying to merge the stuff, but in the meanwhile i use {and prefer} postfix. > I dont even see how this is possible. I have qmail setup properly to deliver > to dbmail. This is obvious since i can send if i login to the dbmail imap > server. But, which imap server i am logged into should not affect how mail > is sent. But apparently it does. Quite true. Let me try to overview this - squirrel passes the message to the smtp/sendmail/blahblah and the smtp delivers it without having to check if your mailbox/user actually exist. Just to make sure i`m right, try sending a message to a different account on the dbmail server. let say if your account on the dbmail server is [EMAIL PROTECTED] try to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and let us know what`s happening. Please notify me if I misunderstood you in any way. > > Ok, but other than that, I can login to dbmail imap just fine. It > authenticates, but from there i cannot read messages from squirrelmail. Btw why dont you try weDBmail, i strongly recommend it, it`ll save you time and it`ll be quicker, since it has a native support for dbmail webmail <-> mysql, where AFAIK sq does webmail <-> (imap server <-> mysql). cheers, -lk -- Lou Kamenov AEYE R&D [EMAIL PROTECTED] FreeBSD BGUG http://www.freebsd-bg.org [EMAIL PROTECTED] Secureroot UK http://secureroot.org.uk [EMAIL PROTECTED] Key Fingerprint - 936F F64A AD50 2D27 07E7 6629 F493 95AE A297 084A One advantage of talking to yourself is that you know at least somebody's listening. - Franklin P.
