Hi Jim,

Thank you.

What I see is that you all know a lot about computers sytems; I know nothing.
So, first of all I want to be sure I don´t make something worse.

I have doubts about the 1st. step:

"1/ make sure darktable is not running and then rename the file C:\Users\[your
user name]\AppData\local\darktable to something else. Now start darktable."

* What I saw is that I only can rename it by editing it on the searching bar.
Is that ok?

**Do I have to change this ? " C:\Users\Do I have to rename my user name
?\AppData\local\darktable to something else.

Thank you.

Susana,

I am sorry that you are still having problems. Having looked at the screen
shots you posted recently I have an idea as to what the problem may be. To
find out please try the following steps. These repeat some of the things you
have tried before, but we need to be sure that there is nothing left over from
previous attempts.

1/ make sure darktable is not running and then rename the file C:\Users\[your
user name]\AppData\local\darktable to something else. Now start darktable.

2/ when darktable starts it will ask about installing the lua scripts as you
have seen before. It is important that you answer this question and I am
afraid that you probably have to do this in English! Click on the little
downward triangle where it says 'install scripts'. This will open the drop
down menu from which I suggest you select 'don't show again'. Now click on the
button below which says 'execute'. I think this is perhaps where you have gone
wrong before as it looks like you tried to import some photos without answering
this question.

3/ Now we will check that darktable is handling the lock files correctly by
ending darktable by clicking on the X in the top right hand corner.

4/ Now count to 10 to let darktable complete its housekeeping. Now try to
start dartable again. Hopefully it starts ok in which case the lock from the
previous run was released. This time you shouldn't be asked about about the
lua scripts. You might want to select Spanish language now in the
configuration. Then you can terminate darktable again.

5/ Now we should try importing some images. Create a new test folder
somewhere and place a few image files in it. Make sure it is just image files
without any .xmp files from previous. Now start darktable and try to import
the images in this test folder. If this works try exiting darktable, counting
to 10 (as I said earlier darktable does some housekeeping before it releases
the lock files so we need to give it a bit of time) and starting darktable
again. Hopefully you can find the image files again in darktable.

Let me know how you get on.

Jim
