I had a laptop with a gforce gt740. If i remember correctly, you need the 340 driver + nvidia-prime, if it's a hybrid card (use "lspci | egrep 'VGA|3D' in a terminal) & in the nvidia settings, you can choose between the intel & the nvidia gpu.
