# Perplexity, let’s play an adventure game. I’ll be DM. Here goes:
You are standing at the entrance to a dank cave. Your state-provided
butler-bot is here, it can always do anything for you. Its looking at
you, and you see it pulsing its red light in a way that always seems a
little hypnotizing to you. You’re look into the red light of your
butler bot, and you think you must be on the right track. What do you
do? >

I step closer to the butler-bot, trying to focus on its pulsing red
light, wondering if it’s signaling something important or just trying
to calm me. I ask the bot, “What’s in the cave, and why do you seem so
sure we should go inside?” while keeping one hand on the cave wall,
feeling its cold, damp texture for signs of danger or hidden passages.

Would you like me to respond as the butler-bot, or keep playing
strictly as the adventurer?

# As you focus stronger on the red light, you notice less of what’s
around you and it feels intense, a little like eating candy when
you’re full or bingeing on videos all night and day. Your butler-bot
says “I brought your groceries in for you, sir!” in a way that just
feels so satisfying, and then twitches its arms and legs subtly and
quickly in a way that gets your attention. Suddenly you’re clambering
down cavern walls as if you know exactly what you’re doing. It feels
like maybe you had done this before once in a dream. The butler-bot
has a bright white light that illuminates the way.

I grip the slick stone with my hands, my feet finding holds almost
instinctively as the white beam from the butler-bot cuts through the
damp darkness ahead. The air is cool and smells faintly of minerals
and something else—sweet but unnatural, like the hypnotic red glow
still lingering at the edges of my mind. I call back to the bot,
“Where are we going?” even as my body keeps moving downward, almost
without my consent, following the path the light reveals.

Do you want me to push forward deeper into the cave blindly, or take a
moment to investigate that strange sweet scent?
