I have never built/contributed an updated package, but would be willing to try if the current maintainer, Jan Nijtmans (according to the source page) is no longer available or doesn't have the time. I have a development background, mostly Linux.

The Contributor's Guide page says "The package summary page should link to the packaging git repository..." but such a link does not appear to be available at https://cygwin.com/packages/summary/sqlite3-src.html

If accepted, one of the admins may be able to import the history into a repo at:

        https://cygwin.com/git/?p=git/cygwin-packages/sqlite3.git

If someone can point me in the right direction I'll give it a try.  I will probably have questions, should I post them here?
