Thanks all for the info, it should help. Shame that the list is not in the manual og the coreutils (aspecially the `mknod` one), because the MAJOR and MINOR are mentioned but nowhere in the man files are they troughly explained, nor referenced to anyrhing that would conain the list of values... aspecially for the offline use
