On 9x9 with Chinese rules even komi values (e.g. 6 or 8) are unlikely because they would require seki in all optimal lines of play. Consequently I'd expect 7, but wouldn't completely rule out 5 and 9 just yet. Under Japanese rules I guess it can be anything from 5 to 10 (and maybe even the full range :-)).
