No, I am talking of two different things. What I send at login is the name cgos uses for my program. This is what I put on the cgos command line. I don't want to change the way that one is used. But GTP also has a 'name' command. I was suggesting using that for passing extra information about the program, to be displayed about the program, perhaps a link to a page that describes the program. The reasoning for this is the repeated discussions here about "what does program-X do", or "what is the difference between programs X-1 and X-2". I guess many of us already have a page of our programs (I don't yet, but I am only beginning to play with the stuff). Many programs are open source, and could even include the whole source on that page, so that people can see it all... I still think using the gtp 'name' command for this is not optimal, as it is also used in GUIs to set the program name. Hope I clarified things more than I confused... -H -- Heikki Levanto "In Murphy We Turst" heikki (at) lsd (dot) dk _______________________________________________ computer-go mailing list computer-go@computer-go.org http://www.computer-go.org/mailman/listinfo/computer-go/
