No, I am talking of two different things. What I send at login is the name
cgos uses for my program. This is what I put on the cgos command line. I
don't want to change the way that one is used.

But GTP also has a 'name' command. I was suggesting using that for passing
extra information about the program, to be displayed about the program,
perhaps a link to a page that describes the program.

The reasoning for this is the repeated discussions here about "what does
program-X do", or "what is the difference between programs X-1 and X-2". I
guess many of us already have a page of our programs (I don't yet, but I am
only beginning to play with the stuff). Many programs are open source, and
could even include the whole source on that page, so that people can see it
all...

I still think using the gtp 'name' command for this is not optimal, as it is
also used in GUIs to set the program name.
