The toolbar view is actually added as a PEER of the window's content view, and 
the content view is resized to accommodate the toolbar when it is shown or 
hidden. Fairly horrid, but I guess it was done so that any assumptions that 
user content had about having exclusive use of the window's content view 
remained valid.
