I mis-phrased that! There is no *technical* thing I don't understand with the rect parameter! I just don't understand, why I didn't passed it down to the drawing code. Completely my fault and it was fixed in a few minutes. Now everything works as expected!
@Jean-Daniel: While scrolling a zoomed area only the visible part is marked as dirty and passed in rect, that's why I mentioned "visible" in the context of dirty rects.
