Keep in mind patch contibutions upstream, back to the original projects,
fall under a host of origin-project-specific licenses(!)

I would be concerned that the BSD family offers no patent assurances, and
the AL offers all the same flexibility, with a higher degree of trust in terms
of individual contributions.
