Randy; in 2023-24 I had my topsides repaired from damage inflicted by another
boat; (long story); after considerable research, the shop went with Awl Grip;
(mostly because my boat has been painted with Awl Grip previously); the cost
was in the low $20's; however, that included the repairs to the hull; I have
photos if you wish; its only been two years, but I am very pleased with how the
job has held up; from my recollection, to keep it looking good over the long
haul, you would need to get back to gelcoat, (or as in my case, remove and
apply new gelcoat)...$$$ and time!the results, however, will get you lots of

Grenadine was painted 7.5 years ago with red Interlux Brightside, three or four
coats rolled and tipped, successively thinned and wet sanded with each coat.
She looked fantastic!
But the paint has oxidized noticeably over the last couple years in the
high-altitude sun, despite the fact that I wax her every spring, sometimes
twice a year, and she’s in the shade on the hard every winter.
I’m not ready to spring for a new paint job yet, but I am willing to attempt a
multi-step restoration job involving cutting compound, etc. I have random
orbit dual-action polishers at my disposal, and crew to help.
What I’d like to know is whether anyone can recommend good products and
processes to get her back to that newly-painted look.
