On our former 1989 37xl we had two jib and two spin.

On our 37/40 XL the middle halyard (on our boat this one is blue) we use for the Genoa, which lives on the Roller Furler.  The two outside ones, port (which is a red halyard), and starboard (which is green), we use for Spinnakers.  Ours exit on the opposite side of the mast to where they are at the top.  No extra external Block at the mast top for the spinnakers, just the internal sheeves in the masthead, port and starboard.

I believe two are for jib halyards so you can change headsails on the track while racing without pulling the other down first. The other is for spinn.

All the best,

Hi Everyone,

We are currently trying to assemble the mast (My son Oden and myself), but we are not exactly sure where everything goes and what everything is for, lol. A lot was disassembled when the boat was trucked from Buffalo and we are familiarizing ourselves with this rig.

I have three lines coming out of the top of my mast facing the bow, and I was wondering if anyone knows what they are all for? The one in the middle is for the jib halyard, but I am not sure about the other two. Spinnaker?

I am also wondering about the spinnaker setup for this mast. Is there supposed to be a block at the top of the mast for the spinnaker? And does the spinnaker halyard run on the outside of the mast, or does it go through the inside?

I can get more photos too and we're back at the boat now.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Noah and Oden
