I have the standard Marinco cord. I keep some dielectric grease on it and check it every so often with my thermal imager. So far so good and I think the cord is at least 25 years old. I’ll post my FLIR photos somewhere when I get home. The hottest part of the whole setup was not the shore power cord, but the cord leading to the cabin heater. Back in the day I fixed many of them that were slowly burning up, it is a race between losing the connection and catching on fire.
* Pro tip , NEVER disconnect the boat end and take it ashore while the cord is live. If you drop it in salt water while live it is hard on the contacts and may kill nearby swimmers, which could be you if you fall in with it. Joe Della Barba Coquina
