I hate bringing up bad memories, but I did the same the first day I took the
family out in my "new" 1982 34 many years ago. We were only going 2-3 knots
but it still felt like a car crash. Nothing obvious in the bilge and went the
whole season afterwards with no issues and no leaks. I never hauled or dove on
the keel (beginners mistake and in denial). When the boat was pulled in the
Fall, we found a transverse crack in the hull about 4-6" long just behind the
keel. It was not at all obvious until you could look at the bottom with the
boat out of the water. There was some damage to the stringers as well. So I
suspect that is where you will find the damage. Strong hulls on C&C's. I
think many brands would not survive as well. Dave
