Hi all,

Today I had a major screwup. Screwup is not the word I wanted to use,
but... I ran into some rocks with my keel. I went from 6.7kts to dead stop
in 1.2 nanoseconds. Luckily I was able to motor into deep water without
much trouble. No one was hurt, thank God.
In checking for leaks I looked in the forward part of the bilge, nothing,
yay. Thought about continuing on south to LA Paz, 120miles south, but my
crew suggested maybe we should dive and survey the damage. Only saw a fist
size chunk of keel missing on the forward part of the keel. I finally
decided that I wanted to haulout and inspect the keel better. I called the
only marina for 120 miles for a slip. Luckily they had space. After
further inspection I found water coming in under the shaft log. I'm looking
for advice on anything else I should look at for damage.
TIA
