You are absolutely correct about sound deadening material disintegrating all over the engine room....that is the case on my boat...the stuff on my boat is now so old it should be removed....the black dust particles are quite apparent in the engine compartment.

Actually thinking about moving it and replacing it with either new material or a different material.
