I use a ~ 30 watt solar to keep my batteries topped off without using shore power even when it is available. It is wired directly to my start battery and my ACR keeps both batteries topped off. My question is should I put a fuse in the positive output from the solar controller—IIRC it has a MPPT controller—to prevent a disaster in case a short develops anywhere in the panel/controller/hook-up/ etc.?
