Ida is one scary storm. I bet that was a heck of a ride, Bill.

After being flooded in May, I certainly don't need to be flooded again or
take a tree on the roof. At the same time, we still don't have floors or
much furniture in the house so any flooding will be less painful than last
time.

The ECMWF model shows it passing right over my house. The GFS and HWRF
models show it passing a bit more east but still between my house and
Touche'. Touche's pier just went under water. It goes under at 3.3 feet
here. If it doesn't get more than 3 or 4 feet over the pier, Touche'
should be fine.

The high south winds will push a lot of water to the north shore of Lake
Pontchartrain. Many folks don't realize the effect wind can have on
shallow water bodies.

I prepped Touche' pretty well yesterday. Dropped the headsail and the big
bimini, Put on the longer tied storm lines which I tie higher on pilings
farther away. Added extra fenders on the midships pilings. But one never
knows about the vagaries of hurricanes.
