Last I checked into moving a boat, it was something like $4/mile plus rig/unrig at each end. It will probably come out to somewhere between 50 and 100 percent of what the boat is worth. I know of someone that used a low-bid carrier from an online site and the story was epic, but not in a good way. It involved the boat owner hiring welders to fix the truck in mid-trip and dodging cops because the driver was not legally licensed. If your friend is on a low budget, she really can’t afford to deal with shenanigans like that. Also note from everything I have heard from my SoCal buddies lately you can’t just show up and live-aboard like you can here. Living on a boat at a marina is not as demanding as single-handed sailing. She sailed the boat from Seattle to the east coast but that was some time ago. Steve Thomas
