I spoke to another owner of a 40-2 who was offshore in the PNW. It was snotty and the boat began to feel sluggish and hard to handle. Seems the fairly large anchor locker drain had clogged and had filled with water.
After that story I gasketed and secured my anchor locker lid. Easy fix to a potential problem. David F. But, I suppose if the locker drains get plugged, there could be a problem. But, my cowl vent came with a flush closing cap, which I would have on for any ‘exciting’ weather . . . Besides, I don’t like really big waves . . .
