I'm interested to hear why you refer to it as the unenviable B&G fold and furthermore why you are returning against your will? I'm coming from an old Garmin unit and find the Interface to be less intuitive but I have assumed that that was more a me problem than a problem with the unit.
I would suggest waiting the 4 or 5 months for the sales and rebates. I saved ~$600 on my chartplotter alone.
