I didn't want to tell anyone this but when I was testing out my espar I ran it without the combustion air line connected on first startup. a nice cloud of smelly white smoke bellowed out (burning off years of carbon buildup) which creeped through my aft cabin and set of my CO detector :) I have a standard household carbon monoxide detector - glad to know it's working!
