Thanks for the input folks. I should have been clearer in my original email. I
am looking for input from people who have experience with "exp system" brand
epoxy (https://www.expsystem.ca). It is manufactured in Peterborough Ontario
and is widely available in local chandlers. It is almost half the cost of the
comparable West System products. I have a lot of experience with West System
and think they make great products, but they are a little pricey. One of the
reasons I am replacing the existing cabin sole is that there are places where
water has penetrated the finish and compromised the ply. It might have been
caused by poor application of the varnish or failure to maintain the finish by
the previous owner, however I would feel better applying a 2 or 3 coats of
epoxy before I move on to varnish.

Subject: Re: Stus-List Experience with exp system epoxy  Hello,Not sure I would
use epoxy at all except to seal the ends and cuts on the ply veneer.  A good
quality varnish on the surface is much easier to redo or touch up and i would
paint the undersides with rustoleum or equivalent.    Just my 2 cents  Maurice

I am installing a new teak and holly veneer cabin sole on my 33-2 and was going
to seal it with west system 105/207 until I ran across exp system which seem
similar but less expensive.  Does anyone have experience with exp system they
can share? I would like to save some money on the epoxy but not at the risk off
screwing up the very expensive veneer ($550/sheet):)  Sent from Yahoo Mail on
