There is an access hatch behind the headliner in the main stateroom that you 
can crawl through.  I have heard similar concerns.  I suspect it is mostly from 
boats with hydraulic backstay adjustments that have been raced hard.  

Not sure if anyone on this list has had a problem.  I haven't, but my boat is a 
total cream puff cruiser that has never been raced and does not have adjustable 
back stays.
