Oh no, I would not recommend to tow the dinghy with an outboard on, especially in any seaway. It increases the center of gravity, and a 4 ft wave at the right time and angle may be enough to flip it. Then you will have a much harder time to right it, and probably junk the engine. Secondary issue is the stress on the cleats, and tow ring over time with that additional engine. I have a 11 ft Coastal with a 10 hp merc. I will tow it like that if I am in protected waters and the trip is less than 2 hours, but otherwise it goes on the davits. If the going will get rought (4+ft waves) the motor goes on the mount, and the dinghy goes on the foredeck upside down. Ahmet
